There are many kinds of visual symptoms. Some are quite harmless while others need to be taken seriously. Correct interpretation depends on good descriptions but putting foreign sensations into words is often difficult.
The Vision Sx pictorial library aims to assist and complement verbal descriptions by providing 40+ symptomimetic illustrations. Most illustrations are interactive and animated.
One and the same symptom may have numerous causes. Therefore, Vision Sx cannot make diagnoses on its own. What Vision Sx can do is to facilitate precise communication with medical experts. Vision Sx also can serve an educational role, by providing a comprehensive overview over visual symptoms. By the way, Sx is medical jargon for symptom.
Vision Sx was compiled by Professor Lars Frisén, MD, at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden, and builds on thousands of descriptions provided by real patients.
